Rescue Diver
The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises you learn what to look for and how to respond, then put it into practice in rescue scenarios.
To enrol you need to be a PADI (Junior) Advanced Open Water Diver aged at least 12 who has completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive, with Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and first aid) training within the past 24 months. You can do the EFR course with us before the Rescue course.
About This Course
The course takes two days and includes confined and open water dives. Topics include self-rescue, recognising and managing stress in other divers, emergency management and equipment, and rescuing panicked and unresponsive divers.
The Rescue course is $770. Emergency First Response is $350 and must be taken alongside it if you do not hold a current first aid certificate. The Oxygen Provider course ($250) is an optional extra.
Medical Statement
Please read through the medical form to ensure you are safe for diving. Refresher dives and Discover Scuba Dives must read this before booking any diving activities.
If you answer ‘yes’ to any of the questions then it may prevent you from diving and you must inform us prior to booking. We want to make sure you stay safe on your dives with us! Please get in touch if you have any questions.
